Let’s talk about the 400V 5400W Halogen IR Lamp
If you’re running high-speed curing or drying lines, you know the drill. You need heat, and you need it now. That’s why we built these 400V 5400W halogen lamps. They’re shortwave emitters, which is a fancy way of saying they dump a massive amount of energy into your material almost the second you flip the switch. The deal with the power Here is where people usually run into trouble: the voltage. We set these at 400V so we can push a ton of wattage through a small space without the current getting out of hand. But if you try to plug this into a standard 220V system without a transformer, you’re going to have a bad time. The lamp won’t get hot enough, your curing times will start drifting, and you’ll be left wondering why your output looks off. Just make sure your power supply matches that 400V requirement so the filament actually glows the way it’s supposed to. What’s happening inside the glass? Inside that quartz envelope, there’s a mix of halogen gas. It basically acts like a cleanup crew. As the tungsten evaporates, the gas pushes it back onto the filament. It keeps the filament from thinning out too fast. For you, that means the lamp lasts longer and the power stays steady. We also use heavy-duty connectors because, at this kind of load, you really don’t want to see any arcing at the terminals. Getting them onto your line These are pretty easy to swap into your existing UV or IR stations. They work by hitting the molecules in your ink or coating directly. It’s fast. Really fast. But a word of warning: 5400W is a lot of heat. Like, a lot. If your housing isn’t vented properly or your cooling fans are acting up, you’ll cook your reflectors and kill the lamp’s lifespan. Also, keep an eye on your PID controllers. Halogen tech ramps up so quickly that if your settings aren’t dialed in, you might overshoot your target temperature before the system even realizes what happened.
