Most people are used to the 220V bulbs you find in a house, but these 380V lamps are a different beast. They’re built for industrial grids. The reason we go this high is simple: it lets us push way more wattage through the filament without melting the lead-in wires. It’s all about the heat. When you use a 380V tube, it hits operating temperature incredibly fast. If you’re doing PET blowing or shrink wrapping, you can’t afford to wait around. You need that immediate thermal shock to get the job done. Just a heads-up, though—keep an eye on your power supply. Factory environments are notorious for voltage spikes, and those will eat your filament for breakfast. Then there’s the build. We use hard quartz glass because it can take a beating. These lamps expand and contract rapidly as they cycle on and off, and quartz is the only thing that doesn’t crack under that kind of pressure. As for the R7s (Sk15) connector? It’s a spring-loaded tension fit. No soldering, no messy wiring. You just pop the old one out and drop a new one in. It takes seconds, which is a lifesaver during a hectic shift change. But here’s the catch. These things put out a massive amount of IR heat. If your housing isn’t vented properly or your cooling fans are choked with dust, your sockets are going to char and fail. It’s a mess. My advice? Check your socket tension every six months. If the contacts get loose, you’ll get arcing. That pits the metal and kills the lamp way faster than it should. If your production line is lagging because your heat-up time is too slow, these are exactly what you need.
